The world needs more people like Ashley.

I came across the Lucky Dog Rescue Blog a couple of months ago and since that time I have been completely enamored with Ashley Owen Hill and her Rescue.  Please, please, please visit her website and see how tirelessly she works for dogs that have been victims of abuse, abandoned, and who at the end of the day, NOBODY wants! Ashley runs the Rescue by herself, with the help of 1, maybe 2, volunteers on an inconsistent basis.  She runs her Rescue and provides for these dogs at the mercy of donations and when there are no donations, she runs her Rescue and provides for these dogs at the mercy of her bank account.  Ashley has been nominated for and is in the running for $15,000 - please help her by going here and following the link to vote for Ashley! You guys know how much of an animal lover I am, and I cannot think of a more deserving person and Rescue to win the $15,000 than Ashley and her Lucky Dog Rescue! The funny thing about time.

Time...it's a word that can make you happy, sad, paranoid, frustrated. It's a word that can help you deal with a bad situation and a word that can make you realize how different your life has become from others in your life.  Right now, I have so many feelings about the word "time."

• I am happy that I am one day closer to the time that JWP and I are heading to NJ to hang with the Mondrinos family and celebrate the sweetest lil' girl's 1st birthday;
• I am happy that I am one month closer to the time that I leave for the girl's SoBe trip, but, I am frustrated that there is still so much time left before we go;
• I am sad that time seems to go so quickly and that I feel like the days are just passing me by;
• I am paranoid that I am not going to bill enough time by the end of the month to get my mid-year bonus;
• I am frustrated at myself that I wait until the last day of every month to put my time in for the entire month;
• I am so thankful for the time that I've had over the past several months to grow and become a stronger person;
• I am surprised by how time has made me rethink some of the relationships in my life because I've realized how little I have in common with some people.

Time, what a mixed-bag of emotions it is.

So I was getting my hair done last night and while I was under the dryer I was flippin' through a Self magazine and came across this.....

a recipe for Cornflake-Crusted Banana Stuffed French Toast.  I was so tempted to rip this recipe right out of the mag, but, that would be rude. So, I busted out my handy smart phone and snapped a pic so that I could make this yummy goodness at a later date......well, that later date ended up being last night.   I couldn't stop thinking about how good this recipe sounded and more so, that it was healthy, so I stopped at Publix last night and got the 'gredients.  Umm, it's pretty much the best thing ever - although, next time I will be adding a bit 'o peanut butter as well (suggested by JWP) :)



If only I was rich.

Umm, can I just tell you that I L-O-V-E everything on this page from Ann Taylor's website??? You know, I've often considered getting a part time/weekends only job at Ann Taylor not so much for the money, but for the discount.  Because clearly if I worked there, I would not be making any money, because every dollar would go right back to AT (but, at least it would be at a very discounted prices)...hmm......anyone know if AT is hiring? :)

Weekend deals at CVS and Publix.

Peeps:

 Last night I headed to CVS to get some stuff to add to the stock pile.  I purchased the following:

•  CVS mouthwash
• (2) Right Guard deoderants
• Tide
• Gilette bodywash
• (2) Old spice bodywash
• (2) Dawn dish soaps
• Charmin
• Colgate toothpaste
• 3 pack Ivory soap
• 2 Reach toothbrushes
• Bic Soleil Shimmer razor

All of this was worth $72.50, but I paid $32.10, plus got $9.77 worth of ECB's.  I think I am going to take the toothbrushes back because CVS wouldn't accept my coupon for them.  I purchased a double pack of toothbrushes for $3.99 and had a $1/2 coupon - but, I was told that the double pack was considered one toothbrush for purposes of the coupon.  That is one thing I hate about "couponing" - if one of my coupons doesn't work, it throws off my cashing out experience.  I should have told the employee that I didn't want the toothbrushes, instead of paying $3.99 for them.  It bothered me my whole drive home!

Today, I went to Publix and purchased $136.00 worth of groceries for $52.39.  Sa-weet! My Publix purchases were:

• (4) bags of Tidy Cat kitty litter (I ended up getting them for less than 3 cents per bag)
• Charcoal
• (2) Pop Secret popcorn
• (2) Klondike slim-a-bear frozen bars
• (2) Windex multi surface spray
• (2) Windex glass cleaner
• (6) Crystal Light 8 quart cannisters
• (2) Lysol toilet cleaner
• (2) Whole Fruit sorbet
• (2) Planters Trail Mix
• (2) Glade candles (I ended up paying .75 cents per candle)
• (2) Jell-O Temptations Mousse
• (3) Birds Eye Steam fresh veggies
• (2) Applegate Farms bacon
• Eggs
• Asparagus
• Goat cheese
• Chicken breast
• (2) packs of granola bars
• (2) Pantene shampoo/conditioner

April recap.

Well, seeing as how I am a bit behind with the blog posts for April, I'm thinking a recap would be best, so here it goes.....

• JWP was out of town for a couple of days, but, I was never lonely because Britt came down and kept me company.  We got in lots of girl time and even had a ladies night out complete with limo and wigs :) Fun times!
• JWP came home on a Wednesday, which also happens to be date night around these parts, so I dipped out of work early so that we could head to the beach and enjoy some sun and "us" time.  We ordered sushi take-out and had a great date night!
• I had a bit of the work blues this month......it was a stressful month and I had a hard time focusing and finding my motivation.  I'm thankful April is over and I am ready to tackle this month...bring it on May!
• I can't stop thinking about a much needed vacation (that has yet to be planned, but is on the top of my list) - I have got to get away for a couple of days! 
• I am back on my eating right and working out plan and I am down 4 pounds :) woo hoo!
• I had my best month yet couponing....I will have to blog about some of my better shopping trips later.
• My mom adopted the cutest puppy ever from the Honor Animal Rescue where we both volunteer.  Her name is Bella and she is so sweet! I will post pics soon.

Ok, well, I think that about sums up my April. I hope you all had a fabulous month and I promise I will be back on track with my blogging.
