The bad side of online shopping.

So, last week I ordered a couple o' things from VS, 5 things to be exact.  When I got home last night I walked in to see the box o' goods sitting on the kitchen counter. Gosh, isn't it the best feeling to come home and see a package from VS, Old Navy, Ann Taylor Loft, or whatever your favorite store is?  So, I quickly opened it up and started looking at my purchases (is it sad that I had actually forgotten what I ordered?) I then began to try things on...umm, let's just say that item #1 was too small, I really think that the size o' cup was obviously mislabeled! And then there was item #2, which apparently isn't a regular old b.r.a., rather its specifically made for halter tops...grr! I couldn't even figure out how to put the darn thing on! I guess in my haste to add things to my shopping cart, I didn't read the description very well - probably just saw "sale" and thought I had to have it.  The next item fit..woo hoo! But, I was so mad about the first two items that I didn't try on the last two items, a dress and some wedges...I guess I will leave those for tonight.  And on top of all of this you can't return VS items purchased online to a store...you gotta send them back via mail...bunk! So, this my friends, is an example of the bad side of online shopping....but, in my experience the good outweigh the bad and don't think for one second I will give up my online shopping!  Happy Thursday, peeps!

Random Updates.

1. I don't know how well this sewing thing is going to work out considering I can't even figure out how to thread the machine.

2. JWP and I have decided to rent his grandparent's house for a year and then reassess the purchase of the house at that time.

3. I'm taking tomorrow off to hang with Mere and Brooklyn at the Beach - everyone needs a PT day every now and then.

4.  Britt and Madz have surprised their Bradenton peeps by planning a visit for this weekend. Yeah ya!

5.  I've done quite a bit of shopping lately...oops!

6. I haven't been couponing too much lately...is it me, or does it seem like the coupons have sucked not been as good lately?

7.  I've decided to purchase my lease instead of buying a new car.  It's all about saving the benjamins, baby.

and, finally,

8.  LIfe is pretty darn good these days.

VS love.

Last night I went to Victoria's Secret because I had a $10.00 reward that I needed wanted to use.  I bought a pair of Tampa Bay Rays (PINK) sweatpants because I've always wanted a pair and they were 40% off..holla! Let me just tell you...they are the MOST comfortable sweatpants you will ever wear in your life...umm, let's just say I'm going to wear them everyday of my life, mmkay!  I also picked up the VS Bombshell Summer body mist....holy heck, it smells AMAZING! All in all I would say it was a pretty good VS shopping trip! Oh, btw, I was going to post pics of the sweatpants and the body mist in this post so you could see exactly what I'm talking about...but, work "blocked" the VS website...lame!  Hope you all have a terrific Thursday....it's almost the weekend!

I heart girlfriends, technology, and wine.

Last night I ventured on over to Steph's house for a little conversation and wine. I love our wine nights. We ended up skyping with Britt who lives up in New Jerz for over 2 hours. It was great - she was drinking wine, we were drinking wine...we were cheersing through the screen....and getting caught up on each other's lives...it really doesn't get much better than that! I love you ladies - cannot wait for SoBe! Obvs, I wish Britt lived closer, but, I love that skype makes me feel like she is right next to me! Happy Friday, peeps!

Sew excited.

Umm, so, JWP and I are in serious dicussions re: buy his grandparent's house (details will be discussed in another blog post).  I have decided that the only big ticket items that we are going to purchase are a sofa, loveseat, and recliner...other than that we are going to use what we have or I am going to channel my inner thrifty decorating skills and make it. Thrift stores..beware! In order to make some of the AMAZING projects that I've seen recently, I've realized that I need to learn now to sew.  I have never really used a sewing machine before and I cannot find a sewing class in the Bradenton/Sarasota that works with my schedule - so, I will be a self-taught sew-er.  I found a great book on Amazon with lots of pictures and I purchased this cute little number...

Holla! I am very excited and I'm sure after many mistakes and loads of curse words, I will have some fabulous pillows, curtains, and other sew-riffic items - ha! Anyone out there sew? Got any tips? Project ideas?

Our own little foster boy Nickoli (had him 7 months now) was just diagnosed with a deadly condition "Chylothorax" fluids collect around the lungs making it impossible to breath. We have had almost 4 litres drained in the last week, but he needs surgery to correct it. Due to our recent move and just unprepared for this huge expense, we are asking our friends and family to help if they can (anything at all, even a $5 spot!) and if money is tight, please cross post- it really works!.

Here is link to the chip in page we made, its safe, secure, goes into our paypal account. The surgery is $6,000, and we need to raise it quick. The doctors gave him only a few months to live if he does not have surgery, but even that would be painful for him.
