The Poufs are in!

Remember those poufs that I ordered a couple of weeks ago for the TV room - well, they were delivered today and I couldn't be any more in love! I think the yellow adds a nice pop to the room and I love the look of the poufs next to the coffee table. SCORE!!!

Tuesday Morning Splurge.

I've been wanting a pair of Tory Burch sandals for-ever!!!! I mean like for-eva!!!!!! So, today, I treated myself and ordered these cuties from Bloomie's:

I have 2 other pair of gold sandals that I've had for at least 2 plus years.  So, I think it was time for a new pair.  I definitely have a thing for gold sandals!

Happy Tuesday to me!

P.S. This is an accessory, not an article of clothing, so I am still doing pretty good on my no buying of new clothes.  Although, I did return some items to AT Loft on Saturday and picked up a couple of things; however, it was money that was already spent - so, that doesn't count in my book! ;)

A Little Sunday Afternoon at The Vet ER.

We had to rush poor Bowden to the Emergency Vet this afternoon because he started breaking out in hives all over his body and his mouth was swelling. I was so freaked out! He didn't even look like himself. I think Justin got us there in .2 minutes. He got a steroid shot and a Benadryl shot and after 45 minutes we were allowed to take him home. He is now resting comfortably:

Poor Buddy!

If you like Chicken Enchiladas.

I came across a recipe for Chicken Enchiladas on the blog My Life as a Mrs. that I love and that has made its way into the weekly rotation.  I revised the recipe a bit and typically I always have the ingredients on hand - it is so easy and so yummy! The recipe from My Life as a Mrs. is as follows:

Mom's Easy Creamy Chicken Enchiladas

Ingredients:
1 1/3 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cooked & shredded
2 (10.5 ounce) cans cream of chicken condensed soup
1 cup sour cream
1 (4.5 ounce) can chopped green chilies
8 ounces cheddar cheese, divided
6 (8-inch) flour tortillas

For Serving: Pico de gallo, sour cream, and cilantro

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray a 9 x 13 oven safe dish with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl gently mix together the chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, green chilies, & 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Spoon about 1/2-3/4 cup of the mixture in a line down the center of each tortilla, roll, and place seam side down in prepared baking dish. Repeat until all tortillas are filled.
Note: you will have about 1-1 1/2 cups of the mixture remaining; spread this on top (down the center) of the prepared enchiladas & top with remaining cheddar cheese. Bake at 350ºF for 35-45 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
Serve with pico de gallo, sour cream, and fresh chopped cilantro.

My revisions:
1.  I don't use cream of chicken soup.  Instead, I make my own sauce out of chicken broth, a bit of corn starch (to thicken), and homemade taco seasoning.
2. I don't add green chilies...Justin would not approve.

Also, make sure you get the smaller flour tortillas - the larger ones do not work as well!

Let me know if you like it!

A little yellow in our lives.

Well, seeing as how I won't be shopping for clothes anytime soon because I haven't lost not one single pound...I've switched my focus and I've been "window shopping" for home goods. We recently rearranged our TV room and as a result needed to buy a lower, larger coffee table. We found the perfect one for $39.99 at Ikea. I've been going back and forth as to whether I want to buy a big rug for under the table, but, when we had the tile installed, the installer made a nice design in the middle of the room and I really didn't want to cover it up. Yesterday, I was checking in on one of my new favorite blogs, Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers, and Natalie was discussing the purchase of a new coffee table and whether she wanted to add ottomans to one side like such:

and I was immediately smitten with this idea and thought this would be PERFECT for the TV room.  Now, our coffee table looks more like this:

but, larger.  After reading Natalie's blog I began looking for ottomans that would go with our TV room and table.  I headed on over to Joss & Main and low and behold they had an event going on (and still going on) called The Perfect Pouf.  I found this amazing pouf and ordered 2:

Our home is decorated with beachy/nautical/coastal accents.  The walls in the TV room are deep beige and our accent wall is a light blue.  Our furniture is brown leather and I have blue accent pillows and peach/pink accent pillows.  You can see the accent wall and the accent pillows (and the cutest dog that ever lived, but, I might be a bit biased) in this picture:

To tie in the yellow poufs, I also ordered these pillows from another Joss & Main event called A Touch of Citrus (also, still going on):

These pillows go perfectly with the theme of our TV rooma and will help tie in the yellow.  I think the yellow accents will give this room the POP that it needs. I am SO excited for these items to be delivered! I will post some pics once the room is done.

Playing Catch-Up (Part IV) - The Wedding.

Our wedding was amazing and just like I imagined (well, almost like I imagined thanks to the HORRIBLE DJ) - but, it was a complete whirlwind.  The Friday before the wedding we were able to set everything up at the venue.  My mom, 3 of my bridesmaids, and myself got there around 10:00 a.m. and worked our little butts off until about 3:00.  I was so happy that we could get inside the day before the wedding, it made life SO much easier.  Friday night was the Rehearsal dinner which Justin's parents hosted.  It was a great time! Justin's mom had a DVD made of pictures of Justin and I growing up and then of us together - honestly, at first, I wasn't too thrilled about the idea - but, I absolutely loved the DVD! I stayed with my mom Friday night and did not sleep a wink - my mind was racing with excitement and nerves.  I wasn't nervous about getting married, I was nervous about everything going as planned.  I had lived and breathed our wedding for a year and I couldn't stop thinking about things going wrong.

Saturday we got ready at Billie-Jo's house and she had a wonderful spread of food and drink (i.e., lots of champagne) for the girls and I to eat and drink throughout the day.  The hair stylist and make-up artist came to us, so, we all just hung out, talked, and sipped on some champagne. Although I did go through bouts of pacing...this time with my mom and my girls was exactly what I needed! The car service came at 3:30pm to pick us all up and take us to the venue - once I was there I got dressed and then took pictures with my mom, by myself, and with my girls.  Before I knew it, it was time for the ceremony to start.  Our ceremony started at 5:30pm and we pretty much started on time.  From this point forward, everything is a bit of a blur - I managed to make it down the aisle without falling a part...mainly, due to the fact that I found out that the DJ's equipment wasn't working and that none of the music that I selected for the ceremony had been played.  So, needless to say, I was a little upset.  However, once I got down the aisle, everything was good to go! Our ceremony was amazing and very personal.  Our Pastor did an amazing job of having the perfect balance of a religious/traditional ceremony and a more modern ceremony.  After we were pronounced husband and wife, a huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders and I was ready to eat, drink, and dance with my family and friends.

Justin and I took pictures during the cocktail hour and then joined all of our guests right at the start of the reception.  The food was amazing and we had such a great time with our family and friends.  We had some more "issues" with the DJ, but, all in all everything went well!  The reception went really fast and before we knew it, it was time for our sparkler send off! Justin's aunt had her boat docked at the venue - so we boarded the boat and she took us over to the hotel.  It felt so good to be married and it felt so good to be done with wedding planning FOREVER!

We didn't leave for our honeymoon until Monday, so, Sunday we spent time with family who had traveled to our wedding and then we packed and headed up to Tampa to stay in a hotel because we had a super early flight.  We honeymooned in Antigua and it was SO relaxing. No internet, no phone service - just Justin and I! It was perfect!

Now we are enjoying our life as Newlyweds!

Monday Motivation.

Let's just say that my resolution to get healthy is not going so well.  I know that I am unhappy with my weight and the way my body looks, but, for the life of me, I cannot get motivated to do something about it! I don't know what's up, but, I need to figure it out fast.  I need some motivation:
